On The Steps of City Hall, Team O’Dea Submits Over 7,500 Signatures Collected From Registered Voters in Jersey City
Bill O’Dea and Team O’Dea, which includes At-Large candidates, Councilman Danny Rivera, Kristen Zadroga-Hart and Sandra Robinson Green, Ward A candidate Pam Johnson, Ward B candidate Joel Brooks, Ward C candidate Tom Zuppa, Ward D candidate Elvin Dominici-Encarnacion, Ward E candidate Dan Israel and Ward F candidate Keith Howell, have officially filed nominating petitions for the November 4th municipal election, marking a major milestone in their campaigns for Mayor and City Council. Team O’Dea submitted over 7,500 signatures from Jersey City registered voters, far surpassing the required number to qualify for the ballot and once again proving the strength of the grassroots campaign organization they are building.
“This incredibly strong show of support sends a clear message that the people of Jersey City are ready for leaders who will deliver results for every neighborhood, who are independent of the political machine, and who are ready on day one,” said O’Dea. “Our petitions were collected at the doors by hardworking, dedicated volunteers who did it because they believe in our vision for Jersey City, not by a political machine or a big money paid campaign operation. That’s the kind of grassroots campaign we’re building, and I’m so thankful to our entire team and especially to the thousands of residents who entrusted us with their support.”
Over the past several months O’Dea and his Council candidates have been out in every ward, engaging with residents in every neighborhood, from block parties and small businesses to community meetings and train stations during the morning commute. They worked side by side with dedicated volunteers, community leaders, and grassroots organizers. Team O’Dea not only collected signatures, but built strong connections with residents through real conversations about the future of Jersey City.
O’Dea and his Council candidates met on the steps of City Hall today to file their petitions, along with Campaign Co-Chairs E. Junior Maldonado and Jeff Dublin and volunteers from each campaign. With the petitioning phase now complete, Team O’Dea is charging ahead into the next phase of the campaign, focused on their core message: making Jersey City more affordable, safer, and fairer for everyone. The team will continue to knock on doors, listen to residents’ concerns, and share a plan for a city government that works for all.
