County Commissioner and Mayoral candidate Bill O’Dea is releasing the following statement congratulating the winners of the 2025 Democratic Primary elections in Hudson County:

"The people of Jersey City just delivered a message that we will not allow outside political bosses to control our city and dictate who our representatives will be,” said O’Dea. “I want to congratulate Assembly nominees Jerry Walker, Will Sampson, Katie Brennan and Ravi Bhalla on their victories, and I look forward to working with each of them to advocate for Jersey City on critical issues like restoring state funding to our public schools, improving public transit, adopting policies to make housing more affordable and much more.”

O’Dea supported Walker in the District 31 Primary Election and utilized his campaign organization to help the candidate connect with voters in Jersey City. Team O’Dea Ward C Council candidate Tom Zuppa and Ward B Council candidate Joel Brooks were also prominent supporters of the Brennan for Assembly campaign.

“Now, we look forward to the Mayoral election in November when Jersey City residents will have the opportunity to elect a new leader who will advocate for what’s best for our city, not for the political establishment,” said O’Dea. “I’ve spent my career in public service standing up for what’s right, whether the political insiders wanted me to or not. I’m running for Mayor now because Jersey City needs a leader who will put our residents first, and our grassroots campaign will continue to chart a new course for our community’s future.”
