As the fight for fair, affordable housing continues in Jersey City, mayoral candidate and County Commissioner Bill O'Dea is inviting residents to join him for an important Town Hall focused on housing affordability, tenant protections, and development accountability. The event will take place on Tuesday, July 8th at 6:30 PM at the Jersey City Education Association, located at 1600 John F. Kennedy Boulevard

“Housing is the number one issue I hear about from families in every neighborhood — from seniors struggling with rising rents to young people priced out of their hometown,” said O'Dea. “Jersey City cannot continue down a path where luxury development comes at the expense of working families. I look forward to engaging residents at this Town Hall, hearing their concerns, and sharing how we can make housing affordable and accessible for all.”

O'Dea, a lifelong Jersey City resident and one of the city’s most vocal advocates for affordable housing, will outline his comprehensive plan to protect renters, preserve existing affordable units, and hold developers accountable for delivering the housing our community desperately needs.

O'Dea’s affordable housing platform includes expanding and enforcing rent control, preserving naturally occurring affordable housing, requiring developers to build more affordable units in new projects, and providing support to first-time homebuyers and longtime renters alike.

The event is free and open to the public. Free parking will be available on-site and light refreshments will be served.
